Twestival Kota Kinabalu

Twestival (or Twitter-Festival) is a single day, worldwide effort by groups of volunteers that uses the power of social media to organize offline events to support a good cause. I founded KK Twestival.

Twestival Local 2011

This year, 150+ cities all over the world participated in Twestival Local 2011. As a sponsor, MEDIATROPICA provided PR strategy services via the blog, Twitter and the social space. As a mentor, I supported and guided the Lead Organizer Mei Wong as she organizes a global event for the first time. She managed to mobilize a team of 40 volunteers to raise RM 22,500 (USD $7,700), with the help of 26 sponsors. We curiously raised more than New York, Singapore, and Hong Kong and currently hold the Malaysian fundraising record. @kktwestival is #5 contributor for #twestival and @fooz ranks #9 on the leaderboard.
